Robert Wilson Koontz was born February 5, 1850, in Hopkins Co., Texas, son of Andrew Brown Koontz and Martha Jane Harlow. He was married on January 12, 1870, in Hopkins County to Nancy Caroline "Carrie" Low, who was born January 22, 1853, near Montgomery, in Tallapoosa Co., Alabama, daughter of William Low and Elizabeth Sparks. Her father was born in Cobb Co., Georgia. . Robert died in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on April 19, 1916. He was buried in Cheyenne, Roger Mills Co., Oklahoma. Carrie moved to Douglas, Cochise Co., Arizona, and lived with her daughter Martha who was by then Mrs. Mattie Forbes. Carrie had hypertension and died from a heart attack at home on July 4, 1939, and was buried in Douglas. She was 86 and a half years old. .
