Mary Susanna Simmons, and her twin sister, Margaret Rosanna Simmons, were born 1864 near London, Middlesex Co., Ontario, Canada, likely in Lobo Township where their father received a Crown Patent for 100 acres in 1854. Mary and Maggie were daughters of Erastus Simmons and Elizabeth Millard. They were living in Lobo Township near London when their father sold the family farm and immigrated to Missouri in the winter of 1867. The family settled in DeKalb County and made one crop there before moving to Saline County in the area around Sweet Springs. On November 15, 1881, Mary and Margaret were married to Tackett brothers, sons of Willis Hensley Tackett and Sydney A. Harrison. Mary's pick was Cosby B. "Chatch" Tackett who was born in January 1854.
