Seth Robert Simmons, was born June 16, 1855, near London, Middlesex Co., Ontario, Canada, likely in Lobo Township where his father received a Crown Patent for 100 acres in 1854. Charles was a son of Erastus Simmons and Elizabeth Millard. He was living in Lobo Township near London when his father sold the family farm and immigrated to Missouri in the winter of 1867. The family settled in DeKalb County and made one crop before moving to a more permanent residence near Sweet Springs in Saline County. Seth was married February 22, 1878, to Martha Ann Fulkerson, who was born March 4, 1858, in Boone Co., Missouri, daughter of John Richard Avis Fulkerson [photo] and Nancy Sappington.[photo] Seth died October 22, 1907, in Roosevelt, Kiowa Co., Oklahoma Territory; Martha Ann followed on December 15, 1937, also in Roosevelt.
