Rice G. Harlow was born about 18__, in Virginia. He was married July 24, 1830, in Nelson Co., Virginia, to Evelina J. Ewers, who was born _______, daughter of Stephen Ewers and Dorothea Allcock, and granddaughter of John Ewers and Elizabeth "Betsy" Moore, and William Allcock and Catey Page. Rice and Evelina moved to Missouri after the birth of their first child. They were in Saline Co., Missouri, in 1840. By 1850, they were "gone" and their children scattered between three different foster households in Saline and Pettis Counties, Missouri.
