David Alan Koontz

David Alan Koontz was born in July 1872 in Del Rio, Val Verde Co., Texas, son of Robert Wilson Koontz and Nancy Caroline "Carrie" Low.

David was married to Ora Parker and later divorced. Ora, who was born in June 1882 in Texas, was a daughter of _____ Parker and Mary Ann _____. Ora was remarried in 1916 in Roger Mills Co., Oklahoma, to David D. Ross, a prosperous farmer, who was born September 6, 1876, and died April 21, 1955. They had a daughter, Lawana Eileen Ross, who was born January 11, 1920, and died on September 23, 1984. David Ross, and his first wife, and his daughter by Ora, Lawana [Ross] Williams Turner, were buried in Cheyenne Cemetery in Roger Mills County.

On [date] David Koontz married sixteen-year-old Minnie Ann Smith. She was born about 1900 and was a daughter of A. J. Smith. About 1925, they moved to Denver, Colorado., where on April 16, 1926, they became pedestrian casualties in an attempt to cross a busy Denver boulevard. Minnie escaped without any particular injury but David was seriously injured. While recuperating, infections set in and he died on the following May 9th. He was buried a day later in Cemetery in Denver.

Widowed Minnie remarried in Park Co., Colorado, on October 12, 1926. Her husband was Henry Herman Adelman who was born January 5, 1891 in Turlington, Otoe Co., Nebraska, son of Charles Adelman and Alwine Frenzel. Henry and Minnie lived in El Paso Co., Colorado, where Henry was a well digger. He had previously farmed in the same area. By 1935, they had moved to Colorado Springs where Henry was working for Western Iron Metal and Machinery Company. Minnie was working as a maid at South Cascade. They were later divorced. Henry Adelman moved to California. He was the caretaker of the old Durham Cemetery before the Chico [California] Burial Society, also known as the Christian Service Society, went out of business. His dog, Foxie, has a headstone there. Henry died in February 1985 in Paradise, Butte Co., California, and was buried at Glen Oaks Memorial Park.

David Alan Koontz and Ora Parker had the following known children:
